What is your vocation story?
I grew up in a Catholic family. I went to Mass on Sundays and did the things I was told to do. I was only going through the motions; my heart wasn’t in it. Then in college, I encountered Christ in three big ways: through His Word, through His sacraments and during adoration. These encounters were experiences of God’s love, mercy and peace. This made me want to give my life to Christ, and I asked Him what He wants me to do. Through many hours of prayer, discernment, and spiritual direction, I’ve come to discern God is calling me to go to seminary. When God calls, you answer, and so I am answering the call.

What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities?
I’ve always liked to be physically active. I like to play sports, workout, hunt, fish and go camping.

Who is your favorite saint? Why?
St. Nicholas – not only because we share the same name, but St. Nick was a big defender of the faith and had a passion for truth and spreading the love of Christ through charity. I feel called to do the same.

Random fact about you:
I was the president of my fraternity in college.
